My story

We should all be proud of our personal journeys. The more it twists and turns, the more original we end up being.

In a world of mass consumption and AI-infused uniformity, it's this originality that I want to bring to my work.

    Sutori (2012 - present)

    Co-founder & Head of communications

A wild journey that started out by recreating historical events on Twitter and led to the creation of a platform used in classes across the world, reaching 2.8m+ registered users.

My two fellow co-founders were instrumental in our success; our dynamic working very well on a shoe-string budget and with minimal funding.

As a co-founder, I inevitably did a little bit of everything (except code!), but my main focus was communications, from newsletters to website copy, webinars to community management.

    #FilterTheNoise (2023-present)

    Workshops & content creation

In an age of emotion-driven virality, opinion, fakes, bots, AI hallucinations, dubious sources, out of context info & memes, making sense of the incessant flow of content online - extracting valid information from it - has become increasingly difficult.

I therefore created content and set up workshops for the general public to rewire our critical thinking, helping us understand the data-driven model of the web, navigate the news in a healthier way & also reduce screen time.

    Learning the trade (2009-13)

From a communication perspective, these years taught me to move away from the academia of my philosophy studies & develop a clear, concise & catchy writing style.

Teaching English to students from diverse backgrounds, in a variety of countries, has added an indelible pedagogical & playful approach to my content creation today.

I always had at heart to allow students to express themselves & find joy in learning.

    Solidarity

From supporting the network of charities in Brussels that improve the daily lives of the homeless, to fundraising for undocumented migrants during Covid-19 or simply welcoming migrants in my home while they seek to obtain their papers, I have always had at heart to give back.

Funding the construction of a school in Guatemala is probably what has had the biggest impact in the long run, education being the gateway to more equality & opportunity.
